Comhairle na Gaelscolaíochta (CnaG) promotes and facilitates the development of Irish-medium education in NI. CnaG receives its core funding from DE and has two vacancies.
Council for Catholic Maintained Schools Diocesan Education Committees (CCMS DECs). DECs are committees of CCMS which has responsibility for the Catholic maintained school sector. DECs provide advice to the CCMS Council regarding its policies and implementation and exercise many of the Council’s operational and representational responsibilities. There are currently three vacancies on Armagh DEC, three on Derry DEC and one on Dromore DEC.
Council for the Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment (CCEA) is responsible for keeping under review all aspects of the curriculum, examinations and assessment for schools and colleges of further education including developing, conducting and moderating qualifications and assessments. There are two immediate vacancies and further vacancies may arise from February 2017.
- remuneration: members are eligible to claim travel and expenses;
- period of appointment: approx three years for CCMS DECs and CCEA; four years for CnaG
- time commitment: anticipated attendance of up to two days per month for CCMS DECs and CCEA; 35–40 hours per year for CnaG
