The EA is a non-departmental body sponsored by the Department of Education. The EA is responsible for ensuring that efficient and effective pre-school, primary and secondary education and sufficient schools and educational services are delivered equitably across NI, are available to meet the needs of children and young persons and for ensuring the provision of efficient and effective youth services. The role involves ensuring that the EA’s policies and actions support the NI Executive’s Programme for Government targets and the strategic policies of the Minister of Education, and that the EA’s affairs are conducted with regularity and probity and deliver value for money.
The appointment is for four years with an annual remuneration of between £50,000 and £60,000, and will be subject to negotiation within this range (plus relevant travel expenses).
