The Department of Education has launched a public appointments competition to appoint Directors to the Board of the Middletown Centre for Autism (MCA).
MCA is a joint North/South initiative with funding provided by the Departments of Education in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland to support the promotion of excellence in the education of autistic children and young people.
Education Minister Paul Givan said: “Middletown Centre for Autism delivers intensive assessment and learning support to children on an outreach basis in the home and school. It also offers a broad range of training courses for educational professionals and parents.
“The Directors have an important role in the development of the Board’s strategy, participating in the decision-making processes of the Board and contributing to the general work associated with the Board’s functions.
“The successful appointees should be experienced in scrutinising an organisation's performance, managing key strategic issues and be able to evaluate and prioritise information to make decisions influencing strategic changes and outcomes.”
Applications are welcome from a wide range of people who have an interest in public service, particularly from women, people with a disability, young people and people from minority ethnic groups for these positions. A Guaranteed Interview Scheme is in place for those applicants with a disability.
