School Meals Funding
On 1 April 2018, responsibility for the funding of Free School Meal (FSM) grants and Educational Maintenance Allowance (EMA) administration funding to Voluntary Grammar (VG) and Grant Maintained Integrated (GMI) schools transferred from the Department to the Education Authority.
To facilitate the transition across to the EA the Department agreed to assist, as far as possible, in finalising the 2017/18 Annual Statement of Accounts. This transitional period has now fiinished and from 10 October 2018 the EA is responsible for all aspects of the funding of Free School Meal grants and Educational Maintenance Allowance administration funding to Voluntary Grammar and Grant Maintained Integrated schools. All future correspondence regarding these should now be directed to the EA.
