The Department is responsible for setting and varying schools’ approved admissions and enrolment numbers. The Department is seeking to bring more agility to the process of setting approved numbers and, to that end, is publishing proposals on a new method of amending approved numbers at primary and post-primary schools.

Consultation description
The consultation seeks views on a new approach to amending approved numbers at primary and post-primary schools. The consultation will run for an eight week period from 29 April 2025 at 00.01 to 23 June 2025 at 23.59. Answers can be provided via the online survey - https://consultations.nidirect.gov.uk/de/changing-school-numbers, any written responses should be received no later that 23.59 on the 23 June 2025. Responses received after this date will not be considered. The survey should take no longer than 10 minutes to complete.
