Consultation on the Northern Ireland Curriculum 2028
The Department of Education is consulting on the draft Northern Ireland Curriculum Framework 2028, which proposes a knowledge-rich curriculum to improve clarity, coherence and learner progression, with stakeholder feedback helping to shape the final version before implementation. The Consultation closes on 25 September 2026.
Consultation on the Religious Education Core Syllabus
The Department of Education is consulting on a revised Religious Education Core Syllabus, developed by the RE Drafting Group chaired by Professor Noel Purdy, which aims to deliver objective, critical and pluralistic teaching that recognises Christianity's significance in Northern Ireland while also engaging with other religious and non-religious worldviews. The Consultation closes on 30 September 2026.
