    Consultation on the Northern Ireland Curriculum 2028  

    The Department of Education is consulting on the draft Northern Ireland Curriculum Framework 2028, which proposes a knowledge-rich curriculum to improve clarity, coherence and learner progression, with stakeholder feedback helping to shape the final version before implementation. The Consultation closes on 25 September 2026. 

    Consultation on the Religious Education Core Syllabus  

    The Department of Education is consulting on a revised Religious Education Core Syllabus, developed by the RE Drafting Group chaired by Professor Noel Purdy, which aims to deliver objective, critical and pluralistic teaching that recognises Christianity's significance in Northern Ireland while also engaging with other religious and non-religious worldviews. The Consultation closes on 30 September 2026.

    Consultation on Leading Together for Excellence: A TransformED NI Strategy for Teacher Professional Learning  

    The Department of Education has published an analysis of responses to its consultation on the Leading Together for Excellence: A TransformED NI Strategy for Teacher Professional Learning, summarising stakeholder feedback received during the eight-week consultation period from 11 May to 6 July 2026. 

    Consultation on The Future of CCEA Qualifications 

    The Department of Education's consultation report on The Future of CCEA GCSEs, AS Levels and A Levels summarises feedback from the public, young people, teachers, pupils, school leaders and other stakeholders gathered between September and November 2025, along with the Department's reflections on the findings. 

    Consultation on 16-18 Legislation 

    Consultation on 16-18 Legislation - The consultation will run from 14 April to 4 July 2025 and can be accessed at Citizen Space alongside a Child and Young Person’s version.
