  • Givan opens new £1.1million investment project at Foley Primary School

    Education Minister Paul Givan has officially opened new facilities at Foley Primary School.

    The project comprises of a multi-purpose sports hall, two mobile classrooms, new school central heating system, resurfacing of the school yard and a new perimeter fence with controlled access.

    Speaking at the official opening, Paul Givan said: “The investment of over £1.1million has provided new, improved facilities and accommodation for all the school staff and pupils at Foley Primary School. This will enhance the educational experience for everyone attending the school and for future generations.

    “The opening of any school buildings and refurbishments is something to be celebrated and improving the schools’ estate remains a key priority for me.”

    While touring the new facilities, Paul Givan continued: “The new multi-purpose sports hall will enable all curriculum areas, including PE, drama and music to be delivered to a high standard in a safe environment.

    “This is a very good day for pupils and staff at Foley Primary School. This scheme will make a real difference to their daily lives, particularly as it will help deliver high-quality education for all.”

    The Minister concluded: “It is always a privilege to visit schools across Northern Ireland and see at first hand the excellent work that is being carried out. I know that the principal, his staff and the Board of Governors work hard to make the school a happy and caring place for all their pupils and I wish them every success for the future in their new facilities.”
