  • Views sought on updated Integrated Education Strategy and Action Plan

    Education Minister Paul Givan has launched a public consultation seeking views on the updated Integrated Education Strategy and Action Plan.

    The Integrated Education (Northern Ireland) Act 2022 came into force in October 2022 and placed a number of requirements on the Department to:

    • Prepare, publish and maintain a strategy for the encouragement, facilitation, support for and provision of Integrated Education by 26 April 2023.
    • Prepare or commission and publish a report on integrated education by 26 April 2024.
    • Review and where necessary revise the integrated education strategy. This report (Section 10 Report) was published on 24 April 2024.

    Launching the consultation, the Minister said: “I am pleased to see the development of the updated strategic framework. I look forward to its positive impact on Integrated Education in the years to come. 

    “I encourage as many people as possible to give their views and feedback on the consultation proposals.”

    The consultation period will run from Thursday 27 March until Friday 24 May 2025 inclusive.
