Weir approves increase in enrolment at Holywood Nursery School

Date published: 07 June 2016

Education Minister, Peter Weir, has approved a development proposal to increase enrolment at Holywood Nursery School.

Enrolment at the school will increase from 52 part time places to 78 part time places with effect from 1 September 2016.

Commenting on the decision the Minister said:

“It is clear from the evidence provided that there is an urgent need for more pre-school places for the children in the Holywood area. My decision will allow Holywood Nursery School to meet current and anticipated levels of demand and will assist in meeting my Department’s aim of ensuring that at least one year of funded pre-school education is available to every family that wants it. This is a good day for the people of Holywood, and I am delighted to be able to make this announcement of this much needed local provision.”
