    The vacancy Independent Chairperson of the Northern Ireland Teachers' Pension Scheme Pension Board is now closed.The Department of Education (DE) is looking for an Independent Chair who is committed and able to provide effective leadership and oversight of the NI Teachers’ Pension Scheme Pension Board, established under the Public Service Pensions Act (NI) 2014. 

    The Chair will ensure the Board operates as an effective and efficient mechanism for assisting the Department in ensuring compliance with legislation and guidance in relation to governance of the NI Teachers’ Pension Scheme.

    The Board consists of 12 members and will meet four times a year.

    The appointment is for a period of 3 years, with an extension for a further 2 years subject to approval.

    The position of Chair will be remunerated at a daily rate of £415, plus travel and subsistence allowances.

    Interviews are expected to be held during the week commencing 29 April 2024.
