    This circular provides clarification and guidance on the useof reasonable force, by teachers and other authorised staff, torestrain or control pupils in certain circumstances. It givesguidance about who can use reasonable force, when it isappropriate to use it, and the procedures for recordingincidents where reasonable force was used. It also advises thatschools should have a written policy about the use ofreasonable force which should be made known to parents.
