The purpose of this release is to present the findings of a survey issued to parents/guardians whose children were going through the school admission process. The aim was to gather information on attitudes to Integrated Education.
The Department of Education has a responsibility to identify, assess, monitor and aim to meet the demand for Integrated Education under the Integrated Education Act.
This survey was issued by the Education Authority to 63,349 parents whose children were going through the school admission process. 9,720 responses were received.
It explores a number of topics such as the factors which were important when expressing first preference, parents’ preference for their child being educated at an integrated school and the transformation process.
