Extended Schools funding is targeted at those schools serving the most disadvantaged communities. To qualify for Extended Schools funding, schools must meet set criteria in order to ensure those in the greatest need receive additional support.

PIRLS is a study of reading literacy at ages 9-10. PIRLS has a five-yearly cycle. Northern Ireland took part in PIRLS for the second time in the 2016 cycle so comparisons can be made with 2011 where appropriate.

The purpose of this statistical bulletin is to provide analysis of the latest annual collections relating to teacher number, teacher vacancies and Pupil : Teacher ratios in grant-aided schools in 2016/17.

This circular, issued by the Department of Education, sets out the process and criteria which are applied to approve qualifications for use in schools in NI.  It also provides details on how the NIEFQAN file should be used.

The Department is responsible for formulating and developing policy and the necessary financial arrangements for the provision of milk, meals and related facilities.

Circular 2017/16 sets out the arrangements for meeting the cost of the provision of substitute cover for the 2017/18 assessment arrangements.
