The Corporate Governance Framework provides assurances regarding departmental governance, and effectiveness of risk management, including management of the Corporate Risk Register, the DE Corporate Plan 2023-2028 and annual Business Plans. It oversees the Department’s contribution to and performance against the Programme for Government outcomes; and oversees Ministerial public appointments.
Governance and Accountability for the oversight of Non-Departmental Public Bodies (NDPB’s) sits within Departmental Educational Governance and is managed through a governance framework and individual sponsorship for each Body. This meets the responsibilities placed on the Department under Managing Public Money NI (MPMNI), and adheres to NI Audit Office Good Governance of ALB’s for the sponsorship of the Departments ALB’s/NDPB’s.
