Derrytrasna Pastoral Care Awards

The Derrytrasna Pastoral Care Award was created in partnership with the Public Health Agency.

These annual awards were suspended for two years due to the Covid–19 pandemic. As a result, the relaunched Award will cover the period September 2019 – June 2022.  The Awards, made in the four categories of pre-school, primary, post primary and special, are for school communities that have demonstrated exceptional pastoral care in supporting the emotional health and wellbeing of pupils.

The aim of the awards are the acknowledgement and celebration of schools that exceed normal expectations in supporting some element of the personal, social, emotional, intellectual and spiritual needs of a child or young person.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a formal ceremony was not possible for the 2020 awards relating to the 2018-19 school year.  These were presented individually by the Education Minister to the winners at Round Tower Community Play Group, Ballysillan Primary School and The Royal School Dungannon.

Nominations will be sought from Monday 24 October until Friday 16 December 2022 using the online application below.
