Policy Statement on Climate Action
The Department of Education has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Northern Ireland’s climate ambitions through sustainable management of the education estate, enhanced environmental standards for school buildings, the development of more sustainable transport services, and the integration of sustainability within ongoing curriculum reform.
In line with its responsibilities under the Climate Change Act (Northern Ireland) 2022, the Department will continue to work with schools and education partners to reduce environmental impact, build climate resilience, and equip young people with the knowledge and skills needed for a sustainable future.
