    Date published: 25 October 2016

Willowfield Parish Church youth organisation in Belfast East is set to benefit from £240,000 investment under the Department of Education’s youth capital works scheme.

    Education Minister Peter Weir

Speaking about the investment, Education Minister Peter Weir said:

“Recent capital funding of £240,000 has been approved for the refurbishment of a sports hall and meeting room; new kitchen, office, meeting area, multi-use room, meeting room and toilets at Willowfield Parish Church youth organisation.

“It is estimated that over £9million will have been invested in the programme of youth capital works in the 2016/17 financial year. This investment will enable improvements to be carried out across the youth service positively impacting on children and young people.”

    In conclusion the Minister said:

“I am confident that the substantial investment in capital projects will help in the drive to improve the infrastructure of youth provision and the completion of all of these works will ultimately provide better facilities for our children and young people. This ongoing significant investment also provides a boost to our local construction industry, helping to sustain jobs.”
