Science of Learning Online Platforms - Development Day sessions
Our Science of Learning online platform programmes, Classroom Excellence (SOLCE) for primary and CPD Academy for post-primary, have created ready-to-use Development Day Sessions for those participating in these programmes.
These are optional resources that schools may wish to use to support delivery of TransformED Development Days. To access these resources, you will need to log in to the relevant platform.
Science of Learning for Classroom Excellence (SOLCE) – Primary
Resources have been designed to support school-based professional learning discussions, particularly during staff development time or School Development Days, helping teachers explore key ideas from the science of learning and translate them into practical classroom strategies.
Sessions on the following topics have been prepared:
- Science of Learning Foundation Course
- Climate of high expectations
- Managing time and resources
- Explaining
- Embedding
Each topic has ready-to-use slides, facilitator guidance and suggested timings, structured reflection and discussion activities, links to techniques and resources in the Great Teaching Toolkit and support for setting up a professional learning development cycle.
