This guidance, commissioned as part of the Department’s ‘iMatter’ Programme, was developed in conjunction with the 2014 ‘Guide to Managing Critical Incidents in Schools’. The document recognises the invaluable role of schools in promoting the emotional health and wellbeing of pupils and seeks to provide further support to schools by outlining what can be done as part of both a whole school approach and through support for individual pupils.
