The pay settlement includes a rise in the starting salary for teachers in Northern Ireland to £30,000. The settlement also represents the equivalent of a cumulative total of 10.4% plus £1000 consolidated increase being applied to the other teachers’ and leadership pay scales.
At a meeting of the Teachers' Negotiating Committee on Tuesday 9 April 2024, the Northern Ireland Teachers' Council formally accepted Management Side's offer for teachers' pay for 2021-22, 2022-23 and 2023-24.
