T-REX - (Teachers' Research Exchange)
The Teachers' Research Exchange (T-REX) platform is an established digital professional learning community that connects teachers, researchers and other education professionals.
The platform supports educators to access research, share effective practice and collaborate, helping to bridge the gap between educational research and classroom practice. The T-REX platform is free to use and is open to educators from both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
As well as providing a digital space for educators to link, learn and share, T-REX also offers a range of professional learning opportunities, including short, online Digital Badge programmes in the form of professional “micro-credentials”. These are designed to support evidence-informed practice and continuous professional development.
There are currently two Digital Badges on offer, each running two to three times per year:
- Using Evidence to Address Educational Disadvantage (developed in collaboration with Stranmillis University College and funded by Shared Island); and
- Using Evidence for School Wellbeing.
Feedback from each of the Digital Badges has been extremely positive. Participants report enhanced understanding and increased confidence in using evidence to inform educational practice and decision-making.
