Supporting Success Programme
Supporting Success is the Department of Education’s new school improvement support programme, replacing the Formal Intervention Process (FIP) set out in Every School a Good School.
As a key component of TransformED, it provides a structured, collaborative and evidence-informed approach to addressing identified challenges and strengthening schools' capacity to secure and sustain improvement.
Led by the Centre for Educational Excellence and Improvement, the programme provides tailored support, including coordinated expertise from across the education system, organised through a dedicated single point of contact.
With a strong focus on school ownership, Supporting Success aims to help schools deliver better outcomes for all children and young people.
Key features include:
- School-led, partnership-based approach to improvement;
- Tailored support informed by evidence and need;
- A dedicated Strategic Coordinator and System Leader Partner for each school;
- Improvement Action Plans and coordinated support packages;
- Access to expertise and resources from across the education system; and
- Regular monitoring, review and progress reporting
The programme supports schools through a structured process of support, challenge and review, helping them strengthen effectiveness, build sustainable capacity and achieve lasting improvement.
